Gross Misuse of an Audi
I was forwarded a PowerPoint presentation of an unbelievable Audi accident (looks like a last generation A4 Avant) in Germany.
Some serious speed would have been necessary for this one. And the tree looks completely unfazed.

Just for interest’s sake, I tallied up the number of colour Java-enabled mobile phones on my desk right now. I have 17. And my company develops games for mobile phones.
Cool, right?
Mostly, yes.. but all these phones are here so I can make sure that each of our games works properly and is customized for the specifications of each device. Ugh, tedium.
Let’s see what I’ve got here:
In addition, I’ve got black & white Java phones: Nokia 6310i, Siemens M50, Motorola i55sr, RIM Blackberry 5810, 6210.
Whew! Who wants to work (by work, I mean volunteer) for a cool game company?
I’ve always kept an eye out for interesting product sightings in TV shows and movies. For the last couple of years, all the computers I’ve seen in ER have been Dell machines. Tonight, I spotted Neela with a snazzy red Alienware laptop!
Alienware makes some of the coolest machines, particularly laptops, that I’ve lusted after. VoodooPC is another such company. (and Canadian to boot!)
Johnny Chung Lee has found a really simple way to make a steadycam rig at a cost of only $14 (USD, I assume). With this simplicity and cost, I’ve got to try it.
If I don’t like it, I can always reuse the parts for some pipe clamps.

Veypor has come out with an accelerometer that works on motorcycles. Finally someone put the effort into a design that can handle a third dimension. (i.e. leaning)
I wonder if it would also work for water and aircraft

LATZ.org carries all the classic Infocom games to I can enjoy them all over again. Particularly HHGTTG.. oh the memories!

So it is taking a while, but I am getting into the swing of things with Blogging. The biggest lesson learned is that I now spent an immense amount of time reading stuff all over the internet. Blogs link to blogs link to blogs… yikes.
Fortunately, great tools like SharpReader help to expedite the reading and monitoring side of things.
As far as running my own blog, the site is starting to take better shape as I refine the look and add the obligatory links. The next major step is to begin formulating my thoughts into “articles” that I want to share with the anonymous world out there.
Definitely the most daunting task ahead of me, as I wrestle with the decision to keep everything thematically tied together or use the space as a whitespace for any and all rambling ideas I have about any topic that comes to mind. Or I can just continue using it as a storage locker for links and information I may want to retrieve later.
Right then… and I have to try to not let this intrude too much upon my regular work.
It seems that two Canadian authors that I happen to really like have blogs through their publisher, Penguin Books.
Jack Whyte
Stuart McLean
Unfortunately, I can’t seem to find RSS feeds for them so I’ll have to do it the hard way and remember to visit their sites every once in a while.
Idealab is dedicated to creating businesses out of really innovative ideas that fill some startingly large gap in technology.
One such company is called X1 which sells a product that lets you find emails and files through keyword searching as fast as you can type them. Brilliant.
Looks like this camera totally rocks. Gonna have to save up some pennies to get one!
